Location: Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh
This was taken at a Strobist style shoot I organised jointly with a few members of the Chandigarh Fotography Club at Sukhna Lake.
Bhavna was the model for the day and was a great sport. Credit goes to Sandeep for finding the lovely lady.
Also present was Anurag Bhateja.
Credit is also due to Safdar and Naveen who, by virtue of being in the news media field, managed to shoo away a few nosy parker policemen, who had come up to ask what was going on and possibly looking for a bribe.
It is a shame that police evereywhere seems to interfere with photographers. In UK, you can be stopped and searched under the Terrorism Act, on what usually are very flimsy grounds. On most occasions, this is a form filling exercise to be able to prove that the deparment did x amount of searches in a month. This is in keeping with the general ethos in UK of being seen to be doing something, which seems to have become more important than actually doing what you are supposed to be doing. PS It doesn't help in UK if you have a DSLR, a tripod, look Asian and have a beard.
India is different. You see, in India, most of the time, the bribe is what they are usually after. Unless you manage to really cross them, the situation is usually settled on the spot. Having an influential relative or working in the media industry definitely helps.
Hence, Safdar and Naveen to the rescue!
